Rooted in History
For over a century, Sylvan Lake has attracted hard-working, fun-loving people who have come together to enjoy the lake and everything it has to offer. Named for one of the town’s first hotels, The Alexander builds upon this rich legacy and offers a new opportunity to be part of this vibrant community.
Designed for Today
The Alexander is designed to thoughtfully complement its surroundings and pay tribute to the town’s history, with design elements that nod to early landmarks like The Alexander and Alamo hotels. The building features robust, enduring materials—brick, cementitious panels and steel cladding—that evoke a timeless quality while ensuring long-term durability. It’s a modern home grounded in the character of Sylvan Lake.

An Iconic Setting
Standing proudly where the legendary Varsity Hall once drew crowds to dance by the lake, The Alexander carries forward a rich legacy. Hosting the big bands of the 1930s to the rock acts of the 1970s, Varsity Hall brought locals and thousands of visitors together to celebrate live music in the heart of Sylvan Lake. Today, The Alexander honours that same community spirit with its vibrant social spaces and fun-loving lakefront lifestyle.
Inspired by Connection
Just steps from the water’s edge, The Alexander is designed to deepen your connection with the lake. Its inviting courtyard, open-air breezeway and seamless flow of space create a natural transition from home to shoreline. Whether you’re heading out for a morning paddle, enjoying the lakeside breeze in a shared outdoor space or passing neighbours on your way back from a swim, every element of the building encourages a life shaped by the rhythms of the lake.
